IDAT 201 – Human Rights
by Gale Franey http://galefraney.wordpress.com/
In order to get an understanding of this subject, I browsed on related info re: human rights and by accident came across Butterflies for Freedom regarding a war prisoner. This was an inspiring and very positive representation of freedom. I began to think about the form of my symbol, I looked at dragon fly, birds etc. I also thought about using the tools, such as handcuffs, the rope, the hanging frame to which I felt these theme had very dark connoation.
